David Sefton
Board Member and Partner
Having being in Practice for over 30 years, David’s broad experience includes advising on multi-million pound sales and acquisitions, restructuring, corporate finance, banking, insolvency, exit planning, strategy, representing Client’s under formal investigation including HMRC COP 9, National Crime Agency and Insolvency Services Investigations.
A straight talker providing pragmatic and clear advice, David represents his Client’s tenaciously with many having being Client’s for over 20 years. Oversees tax planning within the Firm, he is a member of the ICAEW’s Tax Faculty and holds Licensed Access to the Bar. Regularly undertakes pro-bono work and has done for many years.

Michael Ashton
Board Member and Partner
Having spent 20 years with a previous Firm of Chartered Accountants, Michael comes with a wealth of experience and is adept at advising businesses from all sectors and is a clear and effective communicator creating strong bonds with Clients.
Michael’s vast experience is centered around audit and accounts as well as offering practical solutions to businesses who lean on him for advice.

Rachel Sefton
Board Member and Practice Manager
Having being involved with Seftons for over 20 years, Rachel’s focus is on Practice Management ensuring that all departments operate effectively and being an invaluable port of call on all matters within the Practice.
Having overseen the rapid growth of the Practice including acquisitions and the opening of new Offices, Rachel is vastly experienced in Practice matters.
Julian Clarke
Senior Accountant
Having practiced for over 30 years, most of which being in Central London, Julian’s strengths lie in Audit, Charities, and large turnover businesses.
Qualifying as a Chartered Accountant back in 1980, his vast experience with large and mid-tier Firms has given him a strong commitment to being technical and thorough, with his work being highly regarded by Clients.

Derek Ashford
Board Member and Senior Accountant
Having qualified as a Chartered Accountant back in 1981, Derek had been a Partner in a Firm of Accountants before moving to Jersey, initially as Financial Controller of Cater Allen Bank’s Offshore Investment Division and then becoming Head of Financial Planning and Management Information for Abbey National Offshore.
Returning back to the UK in 1999 to take up the role of Finance Director of WH Ireland Group PLC, a quoted national stockbroking and financial services group, he left WH Ireland after 7 years of helping to grow its operations to start his own successful Accountancy Practice in before being acquired by Seftons in 2020.

Dave Meredith
Board Member and Executive Partner
With almost 40 years in banking and latterly as a Director of Commercial Banking at NatWest before seeking pastures new, Dave was responsible for a team of Managers and around 600 small to medium sized Businesses with a particular focus on helping owners grow their Business.
Dave has a deep understanding of the needs of Business owners and thinks outside of the box to enable owners to overcome their hurdles and to meet their requirements.

Steve Harrop
Board Member and Executive Partner
Steve is commercially astute, goal orientated and a performance driven qualified Accountant and Business Executive with 30 years’ experience in business management including over 20 years at Board level.
Having successfully fulfilled roles in major international Businesses with structures from private family run company’s through to large FTSE 100 PLC’s. Steve is adept in helping Businesses of all sizes in creating and implementing various financial, commercial, and operational strategies to facilitate change management, growth plans, mergers, acquisitions and listings.
In recent years Steve had built up a successful Accountancy Practice before selling to the international Firm PKF.
